All training is outside on 3G pitch unless advised otherwise. During the colder winter nights the boys should wear their long sleeve under armour under their training tops and any leggings are okay for training. Hat and gloves would also be a good idea.
Can I ask parents if they are buying their boys new boots, NOT to buy BLADES. Blades are currently being outlawed on astro pitches as they damage the surface and we are expecting Berasden Academy to ban these boots as they have recently re-turfed the pitch due to damage caused by inappropriate footwear. Blades are also a common factor in many players suffering knee ligament damage as it gives too much grip and when players turn quickly, their foot can get stuck causing injury.
Molded studs give a good all round grip on most surfaces including hard grass pitches and is ideal for 3G surfaces. Aluminium or nylon screw in studs are better suited to soft grass.
Scott is a well known long term casualty and is progressing nicely following his operation. He may be back sooner than originally anticipated.
